An engine that had suffered severe water damage whilst in long term storage is in for a rebuild.
The bores were in poor condition and required machining to +60 whilst the crank only required a 10 thou undersizing and now being reassembled with new bearings, pistons, camshaft and lifters.
The heads have had hardened valve seats fitted to allow running on unleaded fuel along with new valve guides. This engine will be refitted to a MK11 Interceptor being restored by its owner.
